(Matthew 25:13)

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

There are several words in the Bible that say, " Watch therefore " In the parable of the ten virgins, " Watch therefore" When Jesus went to pray at Mount Gethsemane, he rebuked his disciples. " And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour? " If we understand it literally, "don't sleep and stay awake." But the word " Watch therefore " has a different meaning.

I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: (Psalm 78: 2)

We can also see the meaning of "awake" in Matthew 13's parable of sowing. Jesus tells the parable to the disciples because "the disciples were permitted to know the secrets of heaven, but not to others. The secret before the creation is hidden in the parable of the seed. There is a parable of the wise five and the foolish five. Ten virgins represent the people of the church. Both the wise and the foolish five were sleeping, but the wise virgin was preparing oil.The five foolish virgins did not realize until Jesus came. Those who are led by the Holy Spirit know that Jesus is coming again; the five foolish virgins do not realize it because they do not have the Holy Spirit. Foolish five virgins are those who seek to keep the law (the law of the wrath of God).

Even if we know when Jesus is coming, what does it matter to us if we are not awake? The important thing is that we are awake and Jesus praises us. It is a wakeful situation for Jesus to meet us gladly. Even though I know a lot of Bible knowledge, I am not awake unless Jesus knows me. In order for Jesus to know me well, I must be in Jesus Christ. In order for us to enter into Jesus Christ, we must die with Jesus and be resurrected with Jesus.

Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God. (Romans 7: 4)

In Romans (6: 3-6) and Galatians (2:19), "to die on the cross with Jesus" means to the law.
We need to know about the Second Coming of Jesus. There is the return of Jesus in the air and the return of Jesus on earth. The return of the air meets the five wise virgins, but the return of the earth judges the foolish virgins. In Matthew, Jesus' coming at night means the return of the air.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. (1 Thessalonians 5: 2)

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.  But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. (Matthew 24:40-43)

Revelation (3:3) says that Jesus comes like a thief.Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. The expression that Jesus comes as a thief at night is that people do not know the return of the air. Jesus is not coming to the wise five virgins as a thief because the wise five are people of light. The foolish five virgins do not know that Jesus came as a thief.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.  And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Matthew 24:29-31)

Everyone on earth knows that Jesus is coming to earth. But Jesus, who comes as a thief, returns in the air, so everyone does not know. Those who meet Jesus who come as thieves are raptured. Jesus, coming from the sight of all, is the second coming of earth on earth after the Seven Years of Tribulation. "Awake" means "to realize the meaning of what God is saying." When God speaks the law (the law of wrath), one must realize what it means. The law is the word that God contains promises to people. A promise must be made. Knowing that promise is awake. That promise is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ died by law. Those who are in Christ are also dead by the law. Therefore, they are born of the law or guided by the Holy Spirit. The dead with Jesus Christ are led by the Holy Spirit.

But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.  But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.  Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. (2 Corinthians 3: 14-16)

In Exodus (34: 29-35), we can see Moses covering a towel. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.  And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.  And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them. And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai. And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face. But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded. And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone: and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

This passage is quoted from 2 Corinthians (3: 14-16). And when Christ comes the towel is removed. But when we read the Old Testament and realize the meaning of the Word, we are awake. If we realize the Law of the Old Testament, we must realize that it is wrong to keep it. If we do not realize it, we are five foolish virgins. Foolish five virgins are judged by God.

Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. (Galatians 4: 10-11)

The apostle Paul laments. Most church people today believe that they are saved from God because they believe in Jesus. But if we do not die on the cross with Jesus, there is no Holy Spirit in us. Those without the Holy Spirit are not saved.
