(Matthew 28: 1-10)

In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.  Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

Soldiers were guarded at the tomb of Jesus. The high priest asked the governor to protect the tomb as a soldier, in case the disciples of Jesus stole the body of Jesus and burst into the testament that he was alive again. The soldiers experienced a tremendous job at dawn that day. There was a big earthquake and an angel appeared. The soldiers saw a shocking phenomenon, trembled with fear, and passed out as if they were dead. When they saw the power and glory of the angel, they trembled with fear and fainted.

At the tomb, the angels comforted the scared women not to be afraid. And the angels told the women that Jesus had risen again and were not in the grave with dead bodies. While Jesus was in ministry, he said many times that he would suffer, die on the cross, and rise again three days later, and the women were reminded of what he said. And the angel shows the empty tomb without Jesus as evidence.

When the women heard the news from the angels and once again reminded what Jesus had said many times before, they realized that Jesus had risen again. The women were so happy that they ran quickly to share the news with other disciples. The women ran to tell the news of Jesus' resurrection, but this time they met the resurrected Jesus. Jesus appeared to the women.

Jesus appeared to the women. Jesus had no interest in the stunned soldiers. From death, Jesus broke the power of death and showed it. Jesus had no interest in seeking revenge against them, whether they were the Roman governor and high priest, the unjust power, or who crucified and killed Jesus.

Jesus was only concerned with scared and discouraged women. Jesus paid attention to comforting, healing, and restoring them by giving them peace. Jesus was interested in caring for them and loving them. The angels who were telling the news of Jesus' resurrection told the women to tell other disciples that Jesus had been resurrected and that they would meet in Galilee.

The resurrected Jesus said the same thing as the angel said. The two women made this known to Jesus' disciples, but no one believed in the resurrection.
