(Matthew 21: 10-13)
And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was
moved, saying, Who is this? And
the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. And Jesus went into the temple of God,
and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the
tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My
house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of
thieves. (Matthew 21: 10-13)
When Jesus
went up to the temple, there were a lot of people doing business. Jesus chased
them and said, "Don't make my father's house a business." The Jews
ask, "What signs will this show us that you do?" Jesus said,
"Let the temple fall, and I will raise it up in three days." The
Bible says that it refers to his body that has been templed. The disciples did
not know the meaning. This means that this temple is no longer needed, and
Jesus will give the true temple.
The disciples
realized only after Jesus' resurrection. It is the temple that God is with. Since
the true temple has come, the temple, the shadow of God's name, must be gone.
When Jesus' disciples were walking with Jesus looking at the temple and talking
about the beautiful temple, Jesus said, "That temple will collapse without
any stone left."
In the Gospel
of Matthew, the disciples who were so shocked asked. When will that happen? And
what will happen at the end of the world? Asked. In Luke's Gospel, Jesus said
that if you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, realize that Jerusalem's
destruction is near. Jesus said to his disciples, "Do you not see all
this?" What did Jesus say? That is, "Do you not know the relationship
between the temple in this building and Jesus Christ, the temple of
Immanuel?"
The building,
the temple, is a shadow, meaning that Jesus Christ came as the true temple.
That is why the temple, the building, is no longer needed, and the shadow must
disappear. Jesus said to the Jews, "Let the temple collapse."
Most church
people today don't know the meaning of Jesus saying to the Jews "Can't you
see to destroy this temple." Of course, the Bible explains the
resurrection of Jesus, but in reality they do not know that the temple building
is no longer needed because it is the shadow of the true temple. Even today,
people don't know, but could the Israelites know? However, if the Israelites
thought this law properly, they must know it.
『And he walked in the way of
the house of Ahab, and did evil in the sight of the LORD, as did the house of
Ahab: for he was the son in law of the house of Ahab. And he went with Joram the son of Ahab
to the war against Hazael king of Syria in Ramothgilead; and the Syrians
wounded Joram. 』 (1 Kings 8: 27-28) Solomon was built as the temple of God, and Solomon,
who built the temple, confesses that "the temple building has only the
name of God." Deacon Stephen is talking about the temple, saying,
"God is not in the temple building built by man's hands."
This is what
the Apostle Paul says when he sees a temple with the phrase "to an unknown
god" in the place of Aden and preaches to the Greeks. When speaking of
"Jehovah God", the Greeks could not know it, so the apostle Paul
described it as "the God who made the heaven and the earth." This
expression was also used when preaching to the Gentiles, but if the Jews studied
the Bible properly and meditate on the law properly, they would have known that
the building temple was the shadow and the true temple would come. So, Jesus is
saying, "Can't you see all of this?" Jesus rebukes his disciples, and
also the Jews.
Jesus says
that you (the disciples) will be the temple of God. As Jesus preached, he
entered the region of Samaria, where there was a Samaritan woman who had come
back from Jacob's well. When Jesus asked her for some water, the Samaritan
woman asked, "You are a Jew, but why are you asking the Samaritan for
water?" Jesus said, "If you had known who asked for water, you would
have asked me for water, and I would have given you water that was not
thirsty." During a story like this, a Samaritan woman asked Jesus, "My
Samaritans should worship on this mountain (the Mount Gerizim), and the Jews
should worship in Jerusalem, which is correct?"
Jesus said,
"Neither on this mountain nor on Jerusalem, the time is coming when you
will worship God." Usually the church people think they go to the temple
to worship. It is thought to go to the temple to worship and praise God.
According to what Jesus said, there is no God on this mountain, and there is no
God on Jerusalem. "The time is coming when you will worship God because God
is in you." Without God in you, you cannot worship. In order to worship
God, it is right to go where God is. You cannot worship where God is not. That
is why Jesus said so.
In other
words, "You become the temple." When Jesus died and resurrected on
the cross, sat at the right hand of God, and sent the Holy Spirit, even when
the saints in Christ are on the earth, the time comes to worship God himself,
even if one or all of them become temples. . The saints gather and worship, but
if you worship with the Holy Spirit (holy spirit) and the true (truth: word),
it becomes true worship. When the Holy Spirit and the Word of God are revealed,
and God's glory is revealed through those words, it is worship. If God's
teaching of the Holy Spirit makes you aware, you will be glorifying God through
the realized result.
