Matthew 10: 38-42

He that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.  And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. (Matthew 10: 38-42)

Jesus said, "Take your own cross." This does not mean that Jesus suffered on the cross, so that we too would join in suffering. Just as Jesus died on the cross, it means that those who are in Christ must die with Jesus about the world. It means separation from the world. It tells us that the old man who loves the world must die. In 1 John 2:15
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

It means to die about the world. This is synonymous with Romans 6: 6. Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

And in Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; In Romans 8:7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. In Galatians 5:19-21, the physical work is introduced in detail.

Only those who forsake the world can receive the word of God (sword). Those who love this world will never receive the Word of God. If there is someone who loves the world and thinks that he has received the Word of God, he will say, "You know Jesus, but Jesus does not know you."

And those who say that they go to church but are still bound by the law are those who have not received the sword of God. Because they do not believe in the fulfillment of the law that Jesus fulfilled. When in Jesus Christ, the law is completed with Jesus. If you don't believe what Jesus accomplished, you are separated from Jesus by the sword of the Word. Those who are in Jesus Christ are free from the law and separated from the world. The Bible says about such a person.

In 1 John 5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not. Only those who die about the world, sin, and law can be born of God. The word "come to give the sword" means to be separated from the world.
