Matthew 13: 33-35

The parable of heaven as leaven

Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.  All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:  That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world. (Matthew 13: 33-35)

Heaven is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the leaven. Woman means the bride of Christ. In Ephesians 5: 31-32
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.  This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Wife means church. The church's saints go out into the world to spread the gospel of Christ. The powder preface is likened to the world. This means that the Gospel is preached and spread to the Gentiles.

The parable of the mustard seed and the parable of the yeast, although the beginning is weak, will finally yield great results. And there is something in common that there is growth in between. But there are also differences. The parable of the mustard seed focuses on external growth, and the parable of the yeast concentrates on internal change. Mustard seeds are growing, and yeast is permeating and changing. The parable of the mustard seed shows an external growth, and the leaven analogy is a metaphor of internal change.

The parable of the mustard seed, as Jesus said in Matthew 28, is directly related to the preaching of the gospel making disciples of all nations, and the leaven parable is connected with a change in life. The beginning of heaven is minimal, but it grows externally, internally and quantitatively, and finally results in great.
